How your donation helps Africa’s youth
Your generous support;
USD $100
Enables a young job seeker to access the co-working and productivity facilities at YOTA’s Skills Hub for one month. This includes high-speed internet, fully air-conditioned workstations, the copy centre, and a range of virtual learning resources. With these tools, young people can study, build digital skills, prepare job applications, and take online courses that strengthen their employability and future career prospects.
USD $250
Supports a young woman entrepreneur from a low-income background to access the full suite of Business Development Services (BDS) at the Skills Hub. These services include business planning support, financial literacy coaching, market research guidance, branding and digital marketing assistance, access to enterprise toolkits, and one-to-one mentoring, thereby equipping her to strengthen and scale her micro or small business.
USD$ 500
Enables 12–15 members of the Voices of Youth Coalition to participate in YOTA’s Youth Leadership Academy, a structured capacity-building programme that enhances young people’s abilities in public leadership, advocacy, communication, policy engagement, climate action, and community organising. The Academy equips youth leaders with the confidence and practical tools needed to influence decision-making spaces at local, national, and regional levels.
USD $1,000
Equips a cohort of 7–10 young people with hands-on employability and job-readiness training through the Skills Hub. This includes tailored CV and cover-letter clinics, interview simulations, soft-skills development, digital proficiency training, workplace etiquette, confidence-building sessions, and guided exposure to employer networks through YOTA’s partnerships with companies across Ghana’s service, manufacturing, and technology sectors.
USD $10,000
Funds a full cycle of YOTA’s flagship Get Into Employability programme for young people living in urban poverty, with a focus on pathways into the hospitality sector. A full cycle supports 12 youth with industry-aligned training, practical skills sessions, workplace simulations, job-shadowing opportunities in hospitality establishments, professional grooming, and direct job-placement support with employer partners. The programme prepares disadvantaged young people to access sustainable employment with dignity and confidence.
USD $25,000
Supports the establishment of a Digital Skills Academy in a major city in Ghana, equipping young women and men with industry-relevant digital tools and competencies for the future of work. This investment covers essential infrastructure including computers and devices, software licences, training equipment, digital learning platforms, and globally recognised certification pathways delivered in partnership with technology leaders such as Microsoft, Google, and other global platforms. The Academy offers structured digital skills training, access to certification exams, coaching, and placement support through YOTA’s employer network. Your contribution helps lay the foundation for a growing network of Digital Skills Academies across Ghana, expanding opportunity for thousands of young people to access high-quality, future-ready learning.
Awushetu's Transformation
Once homeless and sleeping on the streets of Kumasi, Awushetu’s life changed when she joined the Get Into Hospitality programme implemented by YOTA.
After years of hardship, including experiencing teenage pregnancy, dropping out of school, and struggling to survive through arduous market work, she finally found a path forward.
Through training, mentorship, and work placement, Awushetu gained the confidence and skills to thrive. She now works as a live-in receptionist, earns a steady income, and helps support her family back home. Thanks to her remarkable strides in the programme, Awushetu was named Africa’s Regional Winner of KTI’s Global Young Achiever Award in 2024!
”I want to be living proof that it is possible to rise above one’s circumstances and achieve success. Now I encourage others on the street to take that same step. A programme like this can change your life.
